SPRING RENEWAL ART RETREAT - CREATIVITY, NATURE AND LETTING GO.

Spring Renewal Art Retreat: Creativity, Nature and Letting Go

A mindful creative retreat designed to help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and release what you’ve been holding onto.

Sometimes we just need a moment to pause.

Life gets busy, our minds become full, and we forget how powerful it can be to slow down, breathe, and create. The Spring Renewal Retreat was designed to offer exactly that, a day to reconnect with yourself, with nature, and with the simple joy of creativity.

Last weekend we held the first Spring Renewal Retreat, and I can honestly say the day unfolded in the most beautiful way.

The intention behind the retreat was simple: to create a space where people could slow down, reconnect with themselves and others, and use creativity as a way to release what they had been holding onto through the winter months.

From the moment everyone arrived, there was a calm and welcoming energy. The venue worked perfectly for the day, allowing us to move between three different spaces for the painting sessions, the yoga session, and the wonderful lunch that was served.

We began the day at the perfect venue @eastcoaststudios with our first painting session. This part of the workshop was about letting go of control and allowing paint to move freely across the canvas. It’s always fascinating to see how people start cautiously and then gradually relax into the process.

After the morning session we shared a beautiful lunch together, which gave everyone time to pause, chat, and reflect on their paintings.

By this point the weather had worked its own little bit of magic, the sun came out just in time for our mindful walk down to the beach, led by Tamzin, founder of @forest.moon.wellbeing.

During the walk Tamzin guided the group through breath work and grounding practices, encouraging everyone to slow their pace and really take in the surroundings. Along the beach people collected small pieces of nature and created nature mandalas, arranging shells, stones and sea treasures into simple patterns as a quiet moment of reflection before heading back to the studio.

When we returned for the second painting session something interesting happened. Because everyone had time to reflect during lunch and the walk, the paintings became much freer. People seemed more relaxed and more open to expressing themselves.

This session was about releasing whatever they had been holding onto, and you could really feel that shift in the room. There were moments of laughter, moments of quiet concentration, and even a few emotional moments as people shared stories and connected with one another.

By the end of the painting session there was a real sense of lightness.

We finished the day with a gentle yoga session followed by a sound bath, led by Natty of @nattyyoga, which was the most perfect way to close the retreat. The room became completely still, and when everyone slowly came back at the end, it genuinely felt like people were floating.

Seeing everyone leave with such calm energy and big smiles reminded me exactly why I wanted to create these retreats in the first place.

A day to slow down.

A day to create.

A day to reconnect.

I’ll definitely be running more Spring Renewal retreat days, so if this sounds like something you’d love to experience, keep an eye out for upcoming dates.

Want to experience something similar?

If you like the idea of slowing down and creating in a relaxed environment but can’t commit to a full retreat day, I’ve also started running Free Flow Painting Sessions at East Coast Studios.

These are relaxed two hour creative sessions where you can paint freely, enjoy conversation (or quiet if you prefer), and spend time with other like minded people in the spirit of Myfika.

There’s no pressure, no expectations, and no experience needed.

Just come as you are, pick up a brush, and enjoy the process.
